When people hit their golden years, life can get a bit boring, especially for those folks who are retired. Owning a dog is a great solution for the elderly, because research shows that there are health benefits to be had, and that’s in addition to the joy of having a faithful companion. Weighing less than five pounds and standing less than nine inches tall, a Chihuahua is an excellent choice. This breed tends to be a little barky, but the benefit is that they make a great watchdog because they let you know when someone’s around. They love affection and are very loyal dogs that don’t need a lot of room.
This little guy is a great senior friend with his sweet, loving nature. Weighing twenty pounds and standing eleven inches high, they do fine in small spaces. They love to play, but don’t require a lot of exercise and are fond of cuddling.
